Handheld applications: the right prescription for busy doctors (continued)

OfficeNotes v.1.0
An example of this type of application is OfficeNotes, priced at $75. The program is good for both note taking and prescription generation. It's available from Just Information Service Corporation at http://www.crosswinds.net/~officenotes/.

Finding the applications you need
Obviously, handheld solutions (devices and applications) are powerful tools, but shopping for the right tool isn't always easy. Device and application selection can be confusing and cumbersome. Therefore, I recommend you first figure out what part of your daily duties you would like to automate and then educate yourself on the available solutions. Right now, the Palm platform has the greatest number of applications available for business use. As the technology evolves, so will these application categories, benefiting all of us--doctors and patients alike.
