Be enterprising, use AvantGo for offline browsing (continued)
How can I use AvantGo to surf the Web? To use AvantGo as a normal Web browser, just use the "Open Page…" command in the Channels menu when your Palm device is connected to the Web through a PalmModem or wireless connection. You can then enter the URL of any Web page you want. Of course, if the Web page isn't optimized for viewing on a handheld, it will take forever to download and may be difficult to read. If you'd like to experiment, try to access my Web site and see how AvantGo performs when surfing the Web.
Conclusion AvantGo is simply a wonderful addition to anyone's Palm device. It allows you to view at your leisure a wide variety of Web-based information. It'll automatically update your pages on your Palm device whenever you HotSync with your PC, or if you directly connect to the AvantGo server with your Palm unit. Not only are over a thousand channels available to you, but you can create your own custom channels, too. Finally, AvantGo also works very well as an online Web browser. Not bad for a program that's completely free of charge!
