LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Palm analysis feedback and where to get training in Canada
In this month's Letters to the Editor column, one reader praises last month's analysis of Palm, Inc., and another has an addition to make to our survey of Palm handheld training solutions.

Keen perspective
Just wanted to say I think "Palm Reading: An analysis of Palm, Inc." in the June 2001 issue (at http://www.palmpowerenterprise.com/issues/issue200106/peanalysis001.html) is an excellent article. I'm glad to see the perspective given on the situation, most notably the comparison with the dot-com rise and fall. I too think it's key to remember, "we're talking about real products with tangible proprietary value."

Thanks for including the article. I've shared it with the team here.

Train Canada
The following letter was originally posted on PalmPower's Enterprise Edition PowerBoards in response to the article, "Get your team up to speed with these training solutions," by Steve Niles in the June, 2001 issue at http://www.palmpowerenterprise.com/issues/issue200106/training001.html. We felt the information in the message was important enough that we're reprinting here to make sure you don't miss it.

I find this article very interesting, but all the training companies are in the U.S. I have a Palm OS training company in the city of Montreal, Canada at http://www.PalmTraining.ca. We actually did a training workshop with Abbott Laboratories in Montreal in May, 2001, and everyone had only one thing to say: "Finally." In less then four hours, we taught all the basics they needed to be productive, and after 30 days we came back for a one-hour follow up. That was great since they had some questions and issues that came up after the first workshop.

We have done over 50 corporate trainings so far. We are actually recognized by Palm Canada as an official Palm OS training firm. And we now have Palm OS Training on CD. The Government Department of External Affairs ordered 12 Training CDs and were amazed with the four hours of multimedia training.

I know this message looks like a publicity spot, but I just want everyone to know that training on the Palm OS is available in Canada.

Thank you,
Christian Masson
