PRODUCT OF THE MONTH
MasterCard Global Service PDA Guide great for business travelers
By Steve Niles
On October 15, MasterCard International announced that it had released the MasterCard Global Service PDA Guide, an online downloadable version of the MasterCard Global Service international emergency phone list for PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants).
Knowing how popular Palm OS handhelds are among business travelers, I decided to select the MasterCard Global Service PDA Guide as PalmPower's Enterprise Edition Product of the Month. This free, downloadable software is available at http://www.palmtoppublishing.com/mastercard/. The software is 27K in size and is powered by OnTap Technology (at http://www.ontaptech.com).
The MasterCard Global Service PDA Guide is pictured in Figure A.

MasterCard Cardholders can now download the emergency service telephone numbers to their PDAs.
If you're using a company MasterCard to charge your travel expenses, then having the MasterCard emergency phone numbers for locations around the globe can come in extremely handy. You can use MasterCard Global Service numbers to call for assistance virtually anytime, anywhere, and in any language.
Another interesting feature of this service is that PDA and travel-related Web sites worldwide are invited to offer this MasterCard software directly from their own Web site. Information on adding the guide to your site is available at http://palmtoppublishing.com/mastercard as well. Companies using MasterCard as their corporate card of choice may want to consider offering this feature to their employees directly from the corporate Web site.
Having these emergency numbers on hand no matter where you are in the world can be useful if you need to report a lost or stolen card, if you need emergency card replacement, if you need an emergency cash advance, or if you need to find MasterCard/Cirrus ATM Locations.
These are all situations with which most business travelers are probably all too familiar. If you use a MasterCard, this free software is a must-have for your Palm OS handheld.
